The Ulefone Armor X7 was released last month to take the world by storm with its rugged credentials. The phone might not look very modern (or at all), might not have high-end specs (quite the opposite, in fact), but none of that matters. Because its main claim to fame is its robustness.
The Armor X7 is IP68/IP69K water and dust resistant, MIL-STD-810G compliant, and can withstand drops onto solid concrete from up to 1.2m. But what about its screen? How much can he endure before giving in?
Luckily, Ulefone himself decided the world needed to know, so he made a new promo video about it. A word of warning, though – this video is definitely not for the faint of heart. Oh, and if you find smartphone torture disturbing, well, that’s just it. The screen is hammered, stabbed and subjected to a whole host of other all-unrealistic usage scenarios, just to prove that it’s a perfect match for this device, in terms of ruggedness.
Incidentally, this is a 5-inch 720p LCD panel, with the ‘legacy’ 16:9 aspect ratio. The Ulefone Armor X7 is powered by the MediaTek Helio A20 chipset, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. The phone runs Android 10. It has a 4000mAh battery, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter.
